Well, I don’t think we need to eat animal food. I had to laugh at this to keep from crying.

I never saw the word “must” in the title of a study. One study. Not a consensus or anything. I thought, someone is benefiting from this. I looked further and lo and behold…

Even the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly the American Dietetic Association), which can be quite conservative, supports vegetarian diets:

It is the position of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that appropriately planned vegetarian, including vegan, diets are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits for the prevention and treatment of certain diseases. These diets are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, adolescence, older adulthood, and for athletes.

I can just see you laughing! And thank you for the links to vegetarian and vegan nutrition! Also, I’ve lost almost 40 lbs since Gary died 4 years ago. I need/want to put some back on. Look like I escaped from a concentration camp.

Eat every 2 hours. Don’t eat big meals because that will keep you from eating again in 2 hours.

Eat foods that are calorie dense:
      dried fruit
      nuts and seeds
      nut butters
      avocados

Raw vegetables, e.g. salads, aren’t a good idea because they will fill you up for not a lot of calories.

Process fruits and vegetables to increase their calorie density. That means cooking or blending them.

Make food ahead of time and leave it around so there is always something to grab.

I don’t eat isolated fats or oils but if you really need to gain weight fast, do.

Generally, do the opposite of what someone who wants to lose weight would do.

I recently gained about 10 pounds (needed) over ~5 months doing these things so I can attest.
