Crows will drop nuts from a great height in order to crack them. They have also been seen dropping nuts into traffic and waiting at crosswalks until the stoplight halts traffic so they can collect the cracked nuts.

A commenter on You Tube said they watched crows put chestnuts under car tires … under the front tire if the car pulled away going forward, under the back tire if the car pulled away backing up.
