“Low Carbon” Beef. You Can’t Make This Stuff Up. But Someone Did. And The USDA Is Flying With It.

The USDA in November approved a low carbon label for beef produced through methods that marginally reduce emissions by 10 percent from the industry baseline.

Even a completely hypothetical 50 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions per gram of protein would leave beef as the worst climate change choice.

No food produces more greenhouse gas emissions than beef.
