Almost A Quarter Of US Women Aged 40-59 Take Antidepressants

Antidepressant Use In Persons Aged 12 And Over: United States, 2005–2008, Centers For Disease Control And Prevention (CDC), October 2011

Twenty-three percent of women aged 40–59 take antidepressants, more than in any other age-sex group.

There was no variation in antidepressant use by income group.

The data are from 10 years ago. Wonder what it is now?

What is going on? Why are so many women, so many people, being prescribed antidepressants?
