Torre Washington, Professional Bodybuilder, Vegan For 17 Years

TorreWashington

There are a ton of photos of Washington online. I picked this one from his Instagram account. I like what he said, “That’s right, it’s time to get up and live!” I also like that he’s smiling.

Torre Washington is an engineer (at Honda) and a professional bodybuilder. He’s been vegan since 1998. He takes no performance-enhancing drugs. The all-natural competitions he enters do drug testing. This site says he’s 39 years old as of December 2015.

What does he eat?

I could eat beans all day.”

Washington is also a big believer in drinking. Water.

I’ve never cared for the exaggerated musculature of body builders, but I love his shirt “Eat What Elephants Eat”!!! And I admire him for his discipline, both dietary and exercise-wise.

I think, in this man’s particular case, his beauty starts from the inside and works its way out. I love the things he says, like:

I tell my son all the time that there is someone in this country who is eating out of the trash right now. I want to teach him to be grateful for the bounty that we have; I don’t believe in wasting food.

The youth are our future, we can grant the next generation longevity by teaching them L.I.F.E.

His Instagram account is full of kind, grateful, inspirational comments. Just a lovely man.

What impresses me about vegan athletes is they build muscle by eating plants. I think it’s easy to believe that humans need to eat muscle to build muscle. We don’t.
